New India Assurance Bike Insurance Claim Settlement Process

If your vehicle has met with an accident and you wish to file an insurance claim, follow the below-mentioned process:

Claim Registration in Case of Accidental Damage to the Vehicle

Step 1 - Get in touch with the nearest New India Assurance office. The claim assistance executive will issue a claim form.

Step 2 - The claim form must be properly completed and filed with supporting documentation, including a vehicle insurance certificate, driving license, and vehicle registration certificate.

Step 3 - Once you file a bike insurance claim, a surveyor chosen by the insurer will inspect your vehicle. The insurance provider may arrange for a spot survey if the vehicle is rendered immobile following an accident.

Step 4 - Duly signed repair bills/cash memos are to be submitted to the insurer.

Step 5 - You may need to deposit the salvage of the damaged vehicle parts with the insurance company after your claim is approved.

Claim Settlement in Case of Vehicle Theft

In case your vehicle is stolen, follow the following process for registration and settlement of claims.

Step 1 - File an FIR at your nearest police station.

Step 2 - Inform about vehicle theft to the insurance company and submit the copy of the FIR.

Step 3 - Submit the final police report if the vehicle is not traceable.

Step 4 - Cooperate with the investigator/surveyor and share relevant details with him/her.

Step 5 - Once your claim has been accepted, you must transfer the car's registration to the insurance provider and provide the keys, a letter of subrogation, and an indemnity that has been notarized on stamp paper.

Who can buy a two-wheeler insurance policy in India?
Any vehicle owner whose motor vehicle is registered with the Regional Transport Authority in India must buy a motor insurance policy for their vehicles.
How is the Insured Declared Value (IDV) of a vehicle calculated?
IDV is the highest sum that a provider of insurance will guarantee in the event that a vehicle is totally lost. It is set in accordance with the Manufacturer's stated selling price for a certain car model. The agreement between the insurer and the insured determines the IDV for vehicles older than five years.
What are the types of motor insurance policies offered by New India assurance?
The two main types of bike insurance policies that New India Assurance provides are the "Third-Party Liability Only Policy" and the "Package Insurance Policy." Although the Motor Vehicles Act makes the Liability Only Policy required, it is advised to choose a Package Policy instead because it provides superior coverage in a number of situations.
